APSC recruitment 2019: Check eligibility, salary; how to apply

Guwahati: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has invited applications for the posts of a director of economics and statistics under the transformation & development department and two inspectors of factories under the labour welfare department of the state.

Interested candidates can check the government notification at http://apsc.nic.in/advt_2019/Advt_03_2019_1_July_2019.pdf.

Applications for the same can also be downloaded from the Direct Recruitment (DR) (New Form) section at http://www.apsc.nic.in/downloads.asp#downloads. The last date of submitting filled-up application forms in the commission’s office is August 3, 2019.

1. Name of Post: Director of economics and statistics under transformation & development department

No of post: 1 (Unreserved)

Scale of Pay: Rs 30,000 to Rs 1,10, 000 plus grade pay of Rs 16,900 of PB-4 plus other allowances as admissible under rules of the government of Assam.

Age: Not less than 35 years or more than 45 years as on January 1, 2019. The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the matriculation/ HSLC admit card/ certificate issued by a recognised board/ council and no other document shall be accepted in lieu of the mentioned documents.

Educational Qualification: At least 2nd-class Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics from a recognised university or its equivalent. Or a degree of a recognised university with mathematics, statistics, economics as subject and a diploma recognized by the government obtained after at least two years post-graduate training in statistics.

Experience: Not less than 10 years’ experience in statistical works/ investigation/ research in a government department or commercial concern of repute or in conducting or guiding research in statistics in a university or institute of training & research as evidenced by published work. Administrative experience for not less than 5 years in a responsible capacity.

2. Name of Post: Inspector of Factories under labour welfare department

Number of Posts: 2 (OBC)

Scale of Pay: Rs 30, 000 to Rs 1,10, 000 PB-4, grade pay of Rs 12,700 per month plus allowances as admissible under rules of the government of Assam.

Age: Candidates must not be less than 23 years and above 38 years (3 years age relaxation for OBC/MOBC candidates will be given as per government guidelines).

Educational qualification: Degree in any branch of engineering or technology, preferably mechanical/ chemical or electrical engineering.

Experience: Candidates should have practical experience of two years in a workshop or manufacturing concern of good standard.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the tab ‘Forms and Downloads’.

Step 3: On that page, click on Direct Recruitment (DR) (New Form) and download the form.

Step 4: Fill in details in the form. The name of the post should be clearly written in bold letters in an envelope containing the application form and should be sent to the Deputy Secretary, APSC, Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati- 781022.

Step 5: Fees should be deposited only through ‘treasury challan’ in the Head of Accounts ‘NON TAX REVENUE, OTHER NON TAX REVENUE 0051 PSC, 105 STATE PSC APPLICATION FEE RECEIPT OF APSC’ mentioning the name of the post and department. Original copy of treasury challan should be submitted along with the application form.
