Guwahati: Assam police is doing a commendable job, both on field — with its swift action — and off the field on Twitter, where its humour has gained a huge fan following. So much so that popular stand-up comedian Papa CJ applauded them.

In a tweet, the comedian praised the state police’s job and “sense of humour”:

Assam police posted about an incident which took place on June 3 in Dhubri. During the incident, the police seized a truck carrying 590 kg of cannabis near the Chagolia checkpoint. On the micro-blogging site, it said:

In a sarcastic take, the incident was shared by the state police on Twitter asking “Anyone lost a huge (590 kg) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night? Don’t panic, we found it.”

Congratulating the Dhubri team for it work, the tweet said: “Please get in touch with @Dhubri_Police. They will help you out, for sure,” with a wink emoticon.

Not just Papa CJ, the tweet received overwhelming response from netizens, with more than 13,000 engagements till now and counting.
