Guwahati: A video of two traffic constables standing and performing their duty with exemplary dedication amid a heavy downpour is winning hearts on social media.

In the video that has now gone viral, the two constables deployed in the Zoo Tinali area of Assam’s Guwahati city are seen putting all their efforts to clear the peak-hour rush, giving two hoots to the incessant rainfall on Friday evening.

Despite the presence of a traffic shade in the vicinity, the young cops are seen managing the traffic smoothly without holding an umbrella or wearing a raincoat, but in the process getting completely drenched.

Speaking to EastMojo, Manas Deep Chakraborty, who shot the viral video, expressed happiness and lauded the inspiring act of the two young traffic police personnel. Chakraborty owns a restaurant in the locality.

“I was moved by the sense of responsibility showcased by the two young traffic constables. Our state will be a far better place to live in if all of us act in such a way,” he added.

At the time of filing this story, the identification of the two traffic exemplars could not be ascertained. However, we at EastMojo appeal our viewers, especially the Assam Police, to provide us with more information about the unsung heroes.

Earlier in March, in a similar display of dedication and commitment, a traffic constable, Mithun Das, showed exceptional devotion to duty by going about his business on a rainy day. The act was captured and shared on social media by a local resident, Banajeet Deka, after which it went viral.
