Aizawl: Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) president and Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) leader Lalduhoma on Wednesday denied the allegation that his party is part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

During a discussion on an official resolution against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the state legislature on Wednesday, Lalduhoma said the ZNP has already withdrawn support to NDA.

Lalduhoma said that the ZNP along with MNF and Mizoram People’s Conference (MPC) had signed agreement to be part of NDA before the Lok Sabha election in 2014.

But the ZNP and MPC, which are the constituent members of an electoral alliance-ZPM, have already withdrawn support to the NDA after the Lok Sabha polls, he said.

Lalduhoma said that the ZPM is part of the alliance formed by non-BJP parties in the country to defeat the saffron party in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier, chief minister and MNF president Zoramthanga had alleged that ZNP and MPC were NDA partners. He said that the MNF along with ZNP and MPC signed agreement declaring their allegiance to NDA in 2014.
