New Delhi: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) late on Friday night released the third list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, fielding former chief minister Mukul Sangma from Tura, Meghalaya.

Naming candidates for the only two seats from the state, former Union minister and sitting MP Vincent M Pala was named as the candidate for Shillong constituency.

Currently, Sangma is the Leader of the Opposition in the state legislative assembly, while Pala will be fighting for a successive term as the MP from Shillong constituency.

The Central Election Committee of Congress named a total of 18 candidates in the third list. The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are scheduled from April 11 to May 19. Elections for the two seats in Meghalaya will be held in a single phase on April 11.
