Guwahati: The much-awaited ‘The Drift’ music festival, organised by Superpress and Trends, came to an end at the Greenwood Resort in Khanapara, Guwahati on the evening of March 10. The event grabbed the attention of thousands of music lovers from across the state and the region as well. The Drift brought together a number of talented musicians, who showcased their talents among the music lovers of the region.

The first day of the festival witnessed ‘Project Play’, in which bands from across the region competed. Papersky from Nagaland, who was crowned the winners in this category, walked away with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. While Vibran 4 and Sword Tune were jointly declared the first runner-up, Nephele was adjudged the second runner-up.

The main stage event was kicked off by Trance Effect, a melodic and soulful indie-rock band from Nagaland. They set the venue on fire with their melodic guitar solos tagged along with the powerful vocals from their frontwoman. Suraj Mani & The Tattva Trip also brought a whole new wave of music with their poetic lyrics and rock-and-roll music.

Well-known singer Shankuraj Konwar laid out some interesting music and enchanting vocal lines, letting the crowd to move in motion with their music. When Chai Met Toast was the cherry on top of the cake for the evening. With their catchy and simple lyrics, the audience was left with no choice but to sing along with the band. The evening came to an end with some awesome and trippy beats by the very talented and well known GURBAX.

Day 2 was another wonderful and amazing day for music lovers with The Scavangers Project from Aizwal kicking off the evening with their powerful and melodic guitar riffs. They beautifully blended in some new hits to go along with their originals. The duo of LATERAL lit the stage on fire letting the audience to dance and move along with the electronic dance music they created.

The Yellow Diary brought in some cool and awesome stuff with their powerful riffs and punchy beats, which brought in a new vibe to the festival. As We Keep Searching, a band from Pune, made the venue echo with their melodic tunes. RITVIZ kept the crowd going in sync with his beautiful mastering of bringing in his whole new beats to both old and new hits of the music industry.

The event saw a lot of new age music from the international music scene and also ushered in a new era of music to the music lovers of the city.
