The accused in a video celebrated the attack on CRPF jawans and wished if such incident could occur in Northeast
Agartala: One youth from Khowai district here was arrested from Karnataka’s Mysore city for his Facebook post on the Pulwama aattack where at least 40 CRPF Jawans were martyred after a suicide IED bomb exploded on February 14 last.
The video went viral as soon as he uploaded it on the social media where he quoted, “Acha huwa J&K main attack huwa, humare North East mein hoga toh acha hoga. (It’s good that the incident occurred in Jammu and Kashmir. I wish this happens in Northeast), Pramesh said on the video.
The contents of the echoed anti-Indian sentiments in the video amounted to sedition and after investigation by the Tripura Police, the youth was identified as Pramesh Debbarma, 23-year-old, who is a resident of Sonacharan Para in Khowai district.
Later, the Champahour police registered a suo-moto case at Champahour Police Station against the 23-year-old and it was found that he was residing in Karnataka’s Mysore city where he was working for sometimes now.
The Director General of Police Akhil Kumar Shukla formed a team of police led by sub-inspector Ranjit Das from Khowai District and was sent to Karnataka to arrest the accused.
The team of Khowai District Police with the help of Mysore Police succeeded in arresting the accused from a Mysore Hotel. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to have committed the crime.
Later, he was produced before a court at Mysore with a prayer for transit remand to bring him back to Khowai, in Tripura. Accordingly, after getting proper approval from the Mysore court, the team of Tripura Police is taking the accused from Mysore to Agartala. “The Tripura police team along with the accused is expected to reach Agartala on Sunday evening,” sources in Tripura police said.
