Speaking to the media persons at BJP state headquarters here in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon, SW&SE minister Chakma has expressed her unhappiness over the narrow-mindedness of Left front leaders for spreading propaganda against the two ministers.
This all happened while PM Narendra Modi asked the ministers to stand on the other side of the foundation stone laying ceremony during the inaugural session of the two projects from Swami Vivekananda Maidan on February 9.
“I will hold talks with senior advocates and file a petition against the propaganda spread by Left Front and CPI-M leaders as well as also spread rumors in social media against me,” said Chakma, adding: The masses of Tripura have not forgotten the numerous molestations took place during the last 25 years of Leftist regime”.
The video has surfaced on social media when Tripura minister Monoj Kanti Deb allegedly putting his hand in the waist of SW&SE minister Santana Chakma in an indecent manner. The young tribal leader was reportedly seen quickly pushing away the BJP minister’s hand.
After the video went viral, Left Front convener Bijan Dhar told the media that “Monoj Kanti Deb must be sacked and be arrested for touching the woman minister in an extremely indecent manner on the stage from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, and others addressed the public gathering.”
“The male minister has publicly harmed the modesty, sanctity and dignity of the lone woman minister of Tripura at a public platform where the Prime Minister, the chief minister and other important personalities were present,” Dhar alleged.
