Polling for the 14 municipal bodies was held on Thursday
Agartala: Amid widespread allegations of attack and harassment on supporters of the CPI(M) and the Congress by workers of the ruling party in the state, the BJP came out victorious in all the seats of the civic bodies, including four of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, following the by-polls held on Thursday.
Counting of votes began on Friday morning for all the 67 seats which went to polls, out of the 157, for the 14 municipal bodies of Tripura. A voter turnout of 82.89% was reported during the elections on Thursday.
While BJP bagged all the four seats of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Congress candidate came second leaving CPI-M behind.
