The NE state, which was hit by massive floods and landslides a few months ago, to be given assistance from the National Disaster Response Fund
New Delhi: The Centre on Thursday approved additional assistance of Rs 131.16 crore to Nagaland that was affected by floods and landslides a few months ago. Apart from Nagaland, two other states -- Kerala and Andhra Pradesh -- were given Rs 3,048.39 crore and Rs 539.52 crore, respectively, from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
The decision was taken in a committee meeting chaired by Union home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley, agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, home secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of the three ministries attended the meeting.
