Imphal: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has asked all his ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats to resign, if they are not concerned about the welfare of the people.
Visibly angry at the very low attendance of ministers, MLAs and other senior officials, including bureaucrats, during the official function of the Quami Ekta Week at the banquet hall of 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles in Imphal on Monday, the CM said that the state was lagging behind on all fronts due to lack of commitment to public service by elected representatives and bureaucrats.
Singh also advocated for the need for maintaining honesty and sacrifice by the elected representatives and bureaucrats while implementing developmental and welfare work.
“Let’s ourselves be the exemplary model. Only then will people regard us. They will hear to what we say. Otherwise people will not listen or abide with you even if you give them good suggestions,” he said.
On the occasion, Singh also appealed citizens to contribute towards protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the country asserting that “nothing is greater than the motherland”.
