Itanagar: In a joint operation carried out by the jawans of Assam Rifles and Sikh Regiment, five hardcore NDFB(S) militants were arrested from the Jairampur area of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh.
A large number of arms and ammunition, including four pistols and one carbine, along with other incriminating evidence were recovered from them. “Three of those arrested are women,” the police said.
The arrested militants have been identified as Biswajit Basumatray alias B Birsha, Birkhang Basumatray alias B Bwsrang, Divika Muchhary alias M Daobaisuli, Sampa Basumatray alias Sarfao and Dwimu Brahma alias B Dwijiri.
As per reports, the rebels were apprehended from the old Khamdo village in Changlang district by the Jairampur battalion while trying to infiltrate into Indian territory and escape to Upper Assam.
