Mizoram: BJP to field only two candidates in upcoming polls

Assembly elections for 40 seats scheduled on November 28

Aizawl: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to field only two candidates in the 40 seats of the upcoming state assembly polls on November 28. The party will place both their candidates in the two Chakma-majority constituencies of Tupai and Tuichawng in Champhai district, said reports.

However, the party is yet to announce the name of the candidates but has shortlisted 15 constituencies where they have a chance of winning.

The BJP is currently focusing on the minority-Chakma constituencies for the assembly polls in November 28.
