19 flood-hit airlifted in Arunachal’s Pasighat area     

IAF launches rescue operation in Jampani area following request from district administration; six children among those rescued

Pasighat: Altogether 19 persons, including six children, who were stranded due to heavy flood and erosion at Jampani area along the Siang river, were rescued by the personnel from the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the wee hours of Friday.

Following request from the district administration in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, the IAF launched the rescue operation with an Mi17 helicopter. The first flight for the operation was launched from Mohanbari at 4.38am. A total of five sorties were flown during the entire rescue operation which ended at 7 am.
