Asus ROG Phone 5 India launch is all set for later today in India along with some accessories. The ROG Phone 5 is also launching globally at the same time and India is amongst the first wave of countries to receive the phone. The launch event will kick off at 4.15 pm IST and will be available live on Asus’ YouTube, Twitter and Facebook page. An Asus smartphone teaser on Flipkart revealed that the smartphone will be available for purchase on the e-commerce website. 

Specifications and features

The fourth edition in the ROG Phone family is predicted to be the most powerful device and this will entice gamers who need more than just a smartphone. Last year’s ROG Phone 3 ticked the right boxes while keeping it a little low on the design part. This year’s ROG Phone 5 is going for a different approach with not one but two screens, the second and smaller one given on the back. 

Asus ROG Phone 5 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset, offer up to 18 GB RAM and a 6,000 mAh battery. There could be 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM options available. The phone will have the second dot matrix display on the back that can display alerts, welcome messages, and reminders among other things.

The Asus ROG Phone 5 seems to borrow some features from the ROG Phone 3, such as the 3.5mm headphone jack, air triggers, and double USB-C ports. It will also have Android 11 software. According to its listing on the TENAA certification website, the Asus ROG Phone 5 may have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a high refresh rate. And there could be dual or quad speakers on the handset.

Price

The ROG Phone 5 cost is yet to be revealed. The ROG Phone 3, however, was launched at Rs 49,999 onwards in India.
