Fake RPF personnel and one tout arrested by RPF
Guwahati: During a joint check by Railway Protection Force (RPF) and commercial staff at Barpeta Road railway station on Monday, a fake RPF was arrested.
According to a statment by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), the joint team had detained the accussed, identified as Fun Chan Ali (22). On enquiry, he produced a fake RPF ID card as an employee of New Bongaigaon. Subsequently, another fake ID card as Sub- Inspector, Crime Branch No. 173, New Delhi was found in his possession.
One SBI ATM card, certificate issued by Jamadarhat Gaon Panchayat was also found with him.
The accused revealed that both the ID cards were made by him at Malda town with intent to earn easy money from public by acting as RPF staff in railways and as sub-Inspector in public.
In another incident, based on inputs RPF team conducted surveillance at Dibrugarh and apprehended a tout accused, Avinash Kumar, 21, of Bihar, from a market area.
During investigation at RPF Post, Dibrugarh, the accused disclosed that he ran a Railway E-ticketing business jointly with his partner Rohit Kumar Mishra (already arrested by RPF, Hajipur) in Bihar. He also revealed that he had used Tatkal Pro extension to book tickets earlier and further interrogation is being conducted in this regard.
One Laptop, two mobile phones have been seized from him. He disclosed that due to fear of being apprehended by RPF, he left his place and came to Dibrugarh two months ago.
