Major terror attack averted; Two Jaish-e-Mohammad suspects arrested in Delhi
New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police averted a major terror attack as they arrested two suspected terrorist allegedly affiliated to the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad with arms and ammunition in Delhi on Monday night.
According to the Delhi Police's special cell, the suspects are identified as Abdul Latif Mir and Mohammad Ashraf. Both are residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the two suspects were nabbed near the Millennium Park in the Sarai Kalle Khan area of Central Delhi and are currently under police interrogation.
According to the deputy commissioner of Delhi police (special cell), Sanjeev Yadav, the police received a tip-off about their presence there following which they carried out the operation at around 10;15 pm on Monday night.
The police recovered 2 semi-automatic pistols and 10 live cartridges from their possession.
Meanwhile, the Delhi police has been actively carrying out operations at several other locations in the national capital in connection with the arrest of the alleged Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists.
