3 Dalit sisters in UP attacked with "inflammable liquid" while they slept
Three young Dalit sisters from Uttar Pradesh aged-8, 12, and 17 years- were allegedly attacked with an inflammable liquid (possibly acid) while they were asleep in the early hours of Tuesday, said, police officials.
The incident happened in Gonda district, and no arrests have been made yet. Preliminary police enquiry suggest that the inflammable liquid was thrown from the open window of the house.
They added that the eldest of the three sisters suffered major injuries on her face and her chest, while the other two sustained minor injuries on their hands. They then went to their father crying, and by then the attacker had escaped. The trio was admitted to the Gonda district hospital where they are now being treated.
Speaking with leading news daily, a police officer at DGP headquarters in Lucknow stated that the attacker was probably aware of the fact that the girls sleep in the room on the second floor.
He also added that the eldest sister of the tree will probably be able to identify the accused and also clarify the reason behind the attack.
