After 'Baba Ka Dhaba,' Agra based 'chaat wala' goes viral: netizens respond generously
Much similar to the case of Baba Ka Dhaba, a similar appeal to support a chaat stall owner in Agra facing a financial crisis is now viral. Following overwhelming support to Delhi Baba, netizens are now pitching in to help the business of the 90-year-old Agra man.
Dhanishta (@a_tastetour)- a popular food blogger recently shared a video on her Instagram handle, featuring a chaat wala from Uttar Pradesh. He has been selling kanji badas (a local delicacy) for nearly 40 years.
Due to the COVID-19 and its subsequent lockdown, his business took a severe hit. According to the blogger (who wrote on her Instagram post caption), “Because of the pandemic, he gets to earn only Rs 250 – Rs 300 in a day.”
The blogger's effort paid off as within a mere span of hours, many people visited the elderly seller to sample his chaats. Even Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra shared the story on Instagram.
Celebrities including Swara Bhaskar and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub were among the many who also shared the post on their social media handles. They too asked their followers and fans alike to drop by the stall and help boost his business yet again.
