SIT probe complete, media allowed to enter Hathras village

The authorities had setup barricades about 2 km and blocked off all access to the village citing SIT investigation the case.
Joint Magistrate Prem Prakash stated that since the STI probe into the village is complete, the restriction on media is also lifted. However, delegations are still prohibited from entering the village. He also said that allegations about phones of family members being taken away and them being confined to their homes are “baseless.”

The kid can be heard saying that the police have barricaded their houses and the entire village as well. He said that he had to escape through the fields as his family wanted to interact with journalists. He is the one who claimed that even their phones were either being taken away.
On Friday, a delegation of TMC MP’s including Derek O’Brien was also stopped from going inside the village and many were pushed to the ground after an altercation with police officials. This also comes just a day after Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were detained on their way to meet the victim’s family.
