AIIMS report dismisses murder theories in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput

The doctors ruled out allegations of poisoning and strangulation floated by the deceased actor's family and lawyer

New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has dismissed all the murder theories in connection to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in their report. A team of doctors from the medical institute in their report to the CBI, have ruled out allegations of poisoning and strangulation floated by the deceased actor's family.

The news first reported by NDTV states that the AIIMS Panel has completed the examination and gave conclusive medico-legal opinion in the case. According to the report, the CBI has also incorporated the report in their investigation.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, who led the AIIMS panel was quoted by India Today saying that it was a case of suicide and the murder angle has been completely ruled out.

AIIMS is yet to release an official statement about their findings.

According to reports CBI could pursue the charge of "abetment to suicide", which was initially listed as part of the investigation carried on by the Bihar Police.

The Mumbai hospital's autopsy had reported "asphyxia due to hanging" as the cause of death.

The CBI have begun their investigation after the 34-year old actor's family filed a case with allegations against the actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of mental harassment and exploiting him for money and has a role in his death.

The central investigation agency has questioned over 20 people in about 55 days as part of the probe and reports also add that the agency has forensically examined the seized laptop, hard drives, digital camera and two mobile phones in the case.
