In a shocking incident, 6 lakh rupees was fraudulently withdrawn from the bank account of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya by unidentified miscreants.

According to media reports, the amount was withdrawn by miscreants from two bank accounts of Ram Mandir Trust in Lucknow by cloning cheques.

The incident came to light when the miscreants made another attempt to withdraw Rs 9.86 lakh from the Bank of Baroda branch.

On suspicion, the manager of the bank made a verification call to the Trust Secretary Champat Rai who denied issuing any kind of cheque.

“On further inquiry, it was found that money had been withdrawn earlier, too,” said a police official.

An FIR has been lodged on the matter at the Ayodhya Kotwali police station and a team of cyber experts has started an investigation into the case.

A few days ago, a fake website of Ram Mandir Trust came up seeking donations for Ram temple and the matter is also under investigation.
