In a major diplomatic win, Russia has accepted India's request of not supplying arms to Pakistan. The request was made during the visit of Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at a meeting with his counterpart Gen Sergey Shoigu in Moscow, Russia.

The Defence Ministry of India earlier said that the meeting between Rajnath Singh and his counterpart Gen Sergey Shoigu held at the Russian Ministry of Defence in Moscow lasted for an hour.

"The meeting covered a broad range of areas of cooperation between the two countries," stated the Ministry of Defence. The two defence ministers held bilateral talks on strengthening defence and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

"Excellent meeting with the Russian Defence Minister General Sergey Shoigu in Moscow today. We talked about a wide range of issues, particularly how to deepen defence and strategic cooperation between both the countries," tweeted Rajnath Singh after his meeting in Russia.

The Russian Embassy in India also tweeted that the Russian Defence Minister highlighted massive potential of collaboration between the two countries during his meeting with his Indian counterpart.
