This is the first time that Rhea Chakraborty's parents are being questioned by the CBI in the Sushant Singh Rajput case
Mumbai: Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday started their questionings with actor Rhea Chakraborty’s parents concerning the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput as stated by a police official.
Additionally, this is the first time that Rhea’s parents were being questioned by the CBI as both of them were named in the FIR filed in Patna by Rajput’s father. The FIR accused the parents of the actor of mentally harassing his son, taking money from him, and even playing a part in Rajput’s death.
Rajput’s assistant Neeraj Singh, his cook Keshav, his flatmate Siddharth Pithani and former manager Shruti Modi have all arrived at the guest house in Mumbai’s Kalina for further questioning by the CBI. This is day 12 of the CBI investigation. While Rhea and her brother have not been called in for questionings as of now.
Additionally, Rhea was questioned for around 35 hours over the last four days and her brother Showik was questioned for five days straight.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) simultaneously is continuing their questioning of Gaurav Arya- a goa-based hotelier for the second day. This in relation to the money laundering probe that is linked with Rajput’s mysterious death. Arya was summoned in connection with the chats which were recovered by the ED from Rhea’s phone.
As the investigations into the death continue, multiple agencies focussed their attention on Rhea. There it was revealed from Rhea’s WhatsApp texts with Rajput’s sister Priyanka that Rajput’s family was well aware of his mental health issues. This, however, flies in the face of claims made by Rajput’s family that they were unaware of the mental health problems that he may have been battling. Additionally, these chats between the two were from June 8 which is six days before the late actor was found dead in his Mumbai apartment.
