Mumbai Police starts inquiry on 'derogatory' posts & forwards being circulated by people defaming Disha Sailan & family
Mumbai: After a complaint by the father of Disha Sailan, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Mumbai Police has starting inquiry into the spread of rumours related to her death.
According to reports, Disha's father, Satish Sailan, filed a complaint in Malvani police station stating that 'derogatory' posts and forwards were being circulated by people to defame his daughter and their family.
Disha had allegedly died by suicide on June 8 in Malad, Mumbai. A case of accidental death was registered in the case. Six days later, on June 14, Sushant had ended his life at his Bandra residence.
Social media was rife with rumours about Disha and her suicide. Many television news channels flashed claims of her being involved with politicians, attending parties with the big shots of Bollywood, even rape and murder stories were sold like hot cakes by national TV channels.
However, Disha's parents during an interview with India Today cleared the air, stating that they have seen the reports and she wasn't raped or murdered.
They requested people not spread such fake news or to intrude in their private life and let them live in peace.
Mumbai Police has started probing Disha's death and also the complaints by her father. It has also appealed the public to come forward with any evidence or information linked to the case.
