According to reports, one of them is posted at Special Cell; in all, 8 arrested for allegedly trying to rob businessman at gunpoint in Mahipalpur area of south Delhi
New Delhi: Three personnel of Delhi Police were arrested along with five others on alleged charges of trying to rob a businessman at gunpoint in Mahipalpur area of South Delhi, said media reports.
The arrested policemen have been identified as Manu, Sandeep and Amit. According to Delhi police, one of them is posted at the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
According to reports, Naveen Sehrawat, a businessmen and the director of a business firm, lodged a complaint with the police alleging that four men forcefully entered his office and told that they were police officials and threatened him and his staff to hand over all the valuables.
Taken by surprise, when Sehrawat asked the policemen to show their identity cards, on of them slapped him and pointed a gun at him threatening to pull the trigger, said police.
When an employee of Sehrawat screamed for help, three of the men ran away by jumping off the balcony, while one of them was caught. The police later took over the case and arrested all the eight accused in the incident.
