Days after claiming territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani in Uttarakhand as its own, Nepal has now claimed a part of Bihar as its territory.

Nepalese authorities stopped Indian officials from constructing embankments on the Indian side of the border. The work was being carried out by the Water Resources Department (WRD) in Bihar. Nepal is claiming the area as 'No Man's Land'.

The incident occurred on the banks of Lal Bakey river in Bihar's Champaran district. The WRD was carrying out embankment work alongside the river when the Nepalese authorities interfered and prevented them from carrying out the work.

The sudden intervention by the Nepalese authorities comes as a surprise as India has been carrying out the construction work for the past few years. As the matter could not be resolved, the issue was escalated to the Union Home Ministry and the Indian Embassy in Nepal.

This is the second time in past few days that Nepal has claimed Indian land as its territory with the previous claim being territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani in Uttarakhand as its own in a new map released by Nepal that was approved in a bill passed by its Parliament in early June.
