Mumbai: A stern warning has been issued by the Maharashtra Police against those sharing ‘disturbing’ photos of Sushant Singh Rajput. The 34-year-old actor was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on Sunday.

Maharashtra Cyber, a nodal agency that was established by the government of Maharashtra to ensure cyber safety and analyse cyber crime, took to Twitter to share the warning in a series of tweets.

“A disturbing trend has been observed on Social Media platforms by Maharashtra Cyber that pictures of deceased actor Shri. Sushant Singh Rajput are being circulated, which are disturbing and in bad taste,” said the tweet.

They later added that the circulation of such pictures is against legal guidelines and court directions and are liable to invite legal action.

Soon after the tragic demise of the actor, who was known for his outstanding roles in movies like Chhichhore and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, among others, peers, contemporaries and fans took to social media to express their condolences.

However, some social media users started to share disturbing visuals of the corpse on their status and tweets. Some even took a step ahead and made the images as their profile pictures while others made a meme out of them.
