Bihar man wills half property to 2 elephants who saved his life

Jumbos Moti and Rani turned crorepatis after land worth over Rs 5 cr was given to them by Akhtar Imam

Amid grief and anger over the death of an elephand in Kerala, a Bihar man has won many hearts. He has willed away half his property to two of his elephants Moti and Rani.

Akhtar Imam, chief manager of the Asian Elephant Rehabilitation and Wildlife Animal Trust (AERAWAT), said the elephants were like his children.

“Once, there was an attempt of murder made against me. At that time the elephants saved me. When some miscreants armed with pistols tried to enter my room my elephant started trumpeting. It woke me up and I was able to shout and raise an alarm due to which the miscreants ran away,” Imam said.

He has willed other half of the property in the name of his wife and the other half of property worth Rs 5 crore to both his elephants. He added that when the jumbos die, the property would be donated to AERAWAT organisation

Imam says he has willed half of his property to his wife and his share of property worth Rs 5 crore to elephants said that if the jumbos die then the money would go to Asian Elephant Rehabilitation and Wildlife Animal Trust organisation.
