New Delhi: A clash between the police personnel and migrant workers was reported along the Delhi-Gurugram border on Wednesday following the restriction of movement to migrant workers from the national capital entering illegally to Gurugram amid the ongoing nationwide COVID-19 lockdown.

After neighbouring state Haryana resumed all its industries in the Udyog Vihar area in Gurugram, earlier known as Gurgaon, hundreds of workers from Delhi tried to cross the border and enter Haryana illegally, as per reports.

However, the clash broke out after police personnel barred migrants from entering Gurugram from Kapasera and Bijwasan in southwest Delhi border, reports said.

An FIR has been registered against the migrants after they pelted stones at the law enforcement team at Palam Bihar in north of Gurugram, However, reports of the number of injuries in the clash was yet to be known till the time of filing this report.

The Gurugram police also clarified to the media that the Delhi police are not stopping anybody, including the migrant workers, but they had an altercation with the Gurugram police, reports said.

As per reports, at least 34,375 industries have been allowed to resumed operations in Haryana after chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced to revive industries impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic last week.
