Rail Bhavan shut for 2 days as staff tests COVID-19 positive

Delhi Rail Bhavan to remain shut from May 14  to May 15 as an employee tests positive for novel coronavirus

New Delhi: On May 13, Indian Railways announced the closure Rail Bhavan, for two days after an employee was tested positive for COVID-19.

An employee who works as a clerk in RPF Director-General Arun Kumar’s office has been in quarantine since May 6. Rail Bhavan which is the headquarters of the Indian Railways and is based in Delhi, will remain closed on May 14 and May 15.

Intensive sanitization is to take place in all the staff and common areas of the Rail Bhavan.

Before this, Sharma Shakthi Bhavan which housed the Ministry of Labor and Water Resources and two other Floors in Shastri Bhavan were also sealed after some employees tested positive for COVID-19.

As of now, Delhi has a total of 7,639 COVID-19 positive cases with 86 fatalities. Recent updates also showcased India with a total of 74,281 confirmed cases for novel coronavirus with 24,386 recovered and 2,415 deaths.
