Sachin provides financial aid to 4,000 underprivileged persons

Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar provided financial aid to 4,000 underprivileged people, including children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools

MUMBAI: In yet another generous act and making as much efforts as possible the legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar provided financial aid to 4,000 underprivileged people, including the children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools in Mumbai.

The contribution was made to a non-profit organisation Hi5 Youth Foundation. However, the amount of the contribution has not been disclosed.

Taking to twitter the foundation tweeted, “Thanks @sachin_rt for proving once again that #sports encourages compassion! Your generous donation towards our #COVID19 fund enables us to financially aid 4000 underprivileged people, including children from @mybmc schools. Our budding sportspersons thank you, Little Master!”

Responding to the tweet Tendulkar said, “Best wishes to team Hi5 for your efforts in supporting families of daily wage earners.”

The former Indian batsman had earlier made a donation of Rs 25 Lakh each to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

In April, Tendulkar also pledged to help 5,000 people from Shivaji Nagar and Govandi area of Mumbai through an NGO called Apnalaya.
