New Delhi: A shocking video of reality during lockdown in India has emerged on social media that has gone viral. A cement mixer truck travelling on a highway in Madhya Pradesh was stopped by the police for checking and to everyone’s surprise, the driver of the truck was carrying 18 migrant workers hidden inside the cement mixer.

The workers were reportedly travelling from Maharashtra to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh when they were caught by the police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The video shows the migrant labours coming out from the small opening which is to put cement inside for mixing and is not wide enough to allow people. According to the police, an FIR has been registered and the migrants were taken for screening. Now, they will be sent to Lucknow in a bus arranged by the administration.

As the lockdown in the country following the coronavirus pandemic was imposed for the first time on March 25, several migrant workers were left stranded without any work and nowhere to go. With many of them losing their daily wage because of the lockdown, the only escape for them was walking towards their hometowns hundreds and thousands of kilometres away.

Since the migrant issue has become one of the biggest concerns in the country, state governments acted fast and now the Central government has also allowed the railways to operate special trains to carry all the stuck migrants to their hometowns.
