New Delhi: Amid the sky-rocketing prices of onions, locals of Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh had a narrow escape after a government outlet announced that it will sell the 'prized' vegetable at Rs 25 per kg, leading to a stampede-like situation.
A video of the incident is going viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that the moment the gate of the outlet is opened, people rush in to buy their share of onions. In the process several of them fall down.

Meanwhile, the prices of onions continued to rise in markets across the country, leaving customers in distress. In some places, the prices have even touched Rs 185 per kg, as per some reports.
