Guwahat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged all nature lovers to visit the Northeast, especially if they love dense forests and waterfalls.

“I have always liked Himalayas and still I would urge people if they love nature, dense forests, waterfalls and a different kind of ambience altogether to go to Northeast,” PM Modi said while addressing the countrymen in his monthly broadcast of Mann Ki Baat.

Mann Ki Baat is an Indian programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. Since the first show on October 3, 2014, there have been 59 episodes, with the 59th episode being aired on Sunday.

With nature’s bounty from verdant landscape, flora and fauna to pristine mountain, the Northeastern region has been luring travelers from far and wide. This will boost tourism in the region and benefit its economy, the PM said.

Modi also thanked Assam for the warm hospitality shown to the pilgrims who came from across the country to attend the Brahmaputra Pushkar Festival, a festival of river Brahmaputra which comes once in 12 years and was held in Guwahati earlier this month.

With the vision of strengthening the dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, the PM echoed the feeling of oneness in the unity of diversity and maintain the fabric of traditionally existing bond between the people of the country.
