Kolkata: West Bengal’s Covid-19 tally went up to 20,11,221 on Monday after 320 new cases of infection, 192 less than the previous day’s count, were registered, the health department said in a bulletin.
It said 23 fresh fatalities during the day also pushed the coronavirus death toll to 21,040.
In the last 24 hours, 1,314 patients recovered from the disease, which took the discharge rate to 98.38 per cent. Till Monday, 19,78,555 people have been cured of Covid-19 in West Bengal.
The state now has 11,626 active cases, the bulletin said.
North 24 Parganas district recorded the highest number of fresh positive cases at 49, while Kolkata reported 34.
Of the fresh fatalities, North 24 Parganas recorded nine and Kolkata four.
West Bengal tested 24,776 samples for Covid-19 since Sunday, taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 2,37,88,421, the bulletin added.
