An iPhone 6s that was dropped from a plane at 2,000ft survived the fall with only a few scratches and even recorded its descent.

The phone belonged to filmmaker Ernesto Galiotto who was trying to capture a video from the window of the small plane that was flying over a beach in Brazil.

When his phone slipped out of his hand during a flight, the filmmaker might have been justified in thinking it would be destroyed. But in a video that has since been widely shared on social media, he not only found the phone but discovered it was in a working condition.

The environmentalist and filmmaker were in the passenger seat as they overlooked the stunning coast of Rio de Janeiro.

The phone quickly dropped 2,000ft where it landed near the beach without harming anyone and using the ‘find my iPhone’ app, Galiotto located his phone, where it was remarkably still intact with minor scratches.

What’s more surprising is that the device had only been fitted with a standard silicone case and a screen protector.

The footage shows the filmmaker’s surprise as he find the iPhone on the beach still working after the huge fall.
