Kohima: The Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on Thursday visited Don Bosco School at Zubza in Nagaland‘s Kohima which was offered by the Catholic Church to be set up as a COVID-19 Care Centre (CCC).

PWD (housing and mechanical) minister, Tongpang Ozukum, who is the minister in charge of the district, along with advisor for technical education and election Medo Yhokha, advisor for urban development and municipal areas Neikeysalie Kire, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro, officials of the district administration, medical officials and village council members, inspected the site.

The DTF members thanked Fr Nellisseril Joseph, rector and parish Priest of the Catholic church at Sechu Zubza, and his team for offering the school to be used as a CCC for the people of Western Angami area.

According to the DTF, all preparatory arrangements will be completed soon. It noted that the school is well furnished and equipped with all the basic amenities.

The school will initially accommodate 40 beds (20 for men and 20 for women) and later it will be increased to 50 beds, if necessary. As reported earlier, the Government High School Zubza will also be converted into a facility quarantine for the doctors and frontline workers.

DTF members appealed the people of Western Angami area to come together in prayer as well as in deed to confront the common fight and lead by example and follow the SOP in place for COVID-19.
