Kohima: COVID-19 cases in Nagaland crossed the 19,000-mark on Thursday as 326 more positive cases were reported in the state.

The new cases which were detected from the districts of Dimapur (161), Kohima (100), Tuensang (16), Zunheboto (14), Mokokchung (12), Mon (12), Phek (7), Wokha (2), Longleng (1), Peren (1), took the state’s tally to 19,284.

At least 218 COVID-19 patients also recovered from Dimapur (118), Kohima (78), Mokokchung (15), Longleng (3) Peren (2), and Zunheboto (2). The recovered cases increased to 13,924.

The state’s current active cases tally is 4,519 with 4,127 asymptomatic cases, 198 mild symptomatic cases, 75 moderate cases on oxygen, 67 severe cases in oxygen, 38 cases in ICU without a ventilator, and 14 cases in ICU on a ventilator.

The COVID-19 death toll in the state also increased to 234 with 10 more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday.

Meanwhile, with the rise in COVID-19 cases, the state government has extended the existing total lockdown guidelines in the state till May 31 to break the chain of the virus.
