Kohima: COVID-19 vaccination for persons from 18-44 years of age will begin in the state of Nagaland on May 17, informed State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Ritu Thurr on Thursday.
Nagaland received 36,580 doses of the COVISHIELD vaccine from the Serum Institute of India on Wednesday as allocated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on payment by the state.
Thurr informed that the registration and booking for the I8-44 age group would start on May 14 at 9 AM as per the slot available for each COVID-19 vaccination centre. The registration through COWIN or Aarogya Setu is mandatory for all beneficiaries in the age group.
He added that no onsite registration would be entertained. Those who have registered earlier will be required to book a slot under any of the designated COVID-19 vaccination centres. The vaccination for 18-44 years will begin on May 17 only in the designated COVID vaccination centres, the health official informed.
On weekdays, every Monday and Tuesday will be reserved for vaccination of beneficiaries of the said age group. The remaining days will be reserved for vaccination of 45 years and above as planned by the district.
The registered beneficiaries will be required to visit the vaccination centres with the same photo identity card that has been uploaded on COWIN portal or Aarogya Setu App. Beneficiaries are advised to wear a mask, observe physical distancing and maintain hand hygiene.
Persons with COVID-19 like symptoms will not be allowed entry to the vaccination centres. Earlier, the state government has announced its decision to provide free vaccination for persons above 18 years once the vaccination process is rolled.
Vaccination sites across Nagaland:
In total, there will be 24 session sites for vaccination of persons from 18-44 years on Mondays with 3,500 session capacity, and 28 session sites on Tuesday with 3800 session capacity. The various session sites with Session capacity across the state is as follows:
Monday & Tuesday: District Hospital (200); Lions HC (200); Duncan UPHC (100); SD Jain Centre (100); Chumukedima CHC (100); Niuland PHC (50); Dhansariphar CHC (50); Medziphema CHC (50)
i. Monday: NHAK (100); Poterlane (100); Seikhazou (100)
ii. Tuesday: Chiephobozou (50); Tseminyu (50); Viswema (50)
3. Mon: At District Hospital (DH) with 200 session capacity on both Monday and Tuesday.
4. Tuensang: At District Hospital on both Monday and Tuesday with 200 session capacity.
i. Monday: DH (250); UPHC (100)
ii. Tuesday: DH (250); UPHC (100); Tuli (150); Mangkolemba (100); Changtongnya (100)
6. Wokha: DH (200) and UPHC (200) on both Monday and Tuesday
7. Zunheboto: DH (200); Kuhuboto SC (200) on both days
