Kohima: Nagaland will soon get its 12th all-women police station at Noklak, the state’s youngest district, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi said on Friday.

To enhance fighting of crime against women, a women’s police station was established at Kiphire and will soon cover the only district without a women police station, the governor said.

While addressing the seventh session of the ongoing state Assembly session, Ravi said Nagaland will continue to strengthen the capabilities of Nagaland Police.

While the governor has expressed the state government ‘s plan to establish one women police station in the newly created Noklak district soon, no other details were provided.

To improve technical capacities to fight cyber crime, a Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children Lab-cum-Training Centre (CCPWC) has also been made operational. Cyber Cells to investigate cyber-crime have been set up in all the districts, he said.

The governor said the Nagaland Police anti-extortion cells have also been set up in all districts to tackle the menace of extortion and to further curb instances of illegal taxation by working in close coordination with other law enforcement and security agencies.
