Nagaland woman molested in Ahmedabad; accused calls her 'woman from Thailand'
A 25-year-old resident from Ahmedabad has been booked for allegedly molesting a woman from Nagaland in the city, late on Wednesday. The woman who works as a masseuse at a spa was walking back home when the incident happened.
The woman, from Kohima, lives with her fiancé in Ahmedabad’s Satellite locality and was walking back home when the accused, identified as Vitthal Rathod, 25-year-old from Tulsimukhi no Vass, allegedly groped her thighs. He even hurled lewd remarks at her and called her a “woman from Thailand,” as stated by media reports.
After harassing the woman near Ramdevnagar Crossroads around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, Rathod ran away thinking he would go scot-free. However, the woman chased him, screaming. Nearby passerby immediately rushed to help her and was able to catch the accused. They thrashed him brutally, and following this, the police were informed.
As of now, an offence of molestation has been registered against the accused, and police officials are now examining the area’s CCTV footages to collect evidence.
