Centre extends ceasefire with NSCN-R for six more months

The NSCN-R and the Centre agreed in principle to continue to uphold the sanctity of the laid down Ceasefire Ground Rules (CFGR)

Kohima: The government of India (GoI) through the office of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG)/Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB) extended the ceasefire agreement with NSCN-Reformation for another six more months.
NSCN-R MIP informed that the ceasefire extension agreement was signed on Thursday at the CFMG/CFSB office in Kohima.
During the signing of the agreement, both parties maintained that it will continue to uphold the procedures that are at hand in order to promote peace in the region and to also pave way for the smooth functioning of the 'Political Journey' between the centre and the NSCN.

It informed that the ceasefire extension was due to expire on October 27.

Both parties agreed in principle to continue to uphold the sanctity of the laid down Ceasefire Ground Rules (CFGR) and to keep a check on any lapses that may arise from either sides. It added that the "hard earned peace" cannot be compromised or derailed at any cost. 

Representatives of the government of India was led by chairman of the CFMG/CFSB Lt Gen (Rtd) Amarjeet Singh Bedi; T Mere, staff officer, CFSB/CFMG; Nagaland DGP TJ Longkumer, IPS; Commissioner Rovilatuo Mor, IAS; IG (INT), Martin Pienyu IPS; Commander 5 Sector, IGAR (N) Brig Abhinav; SO 5 Sector IGAR (N), Capt Prabhjot; and DIG (ops) CRPF Surender Singh.

The NSCN-R team was represented by Dr Amento Chishi, Supervisor, CFSB and members, Amento Chophi, Muzivoyi Puro, Mughato Chophi and Inaki Zhimomi.
