Under 3 categories: classes IX-XII, PG and UG, and open category, Nagaland is set to witness mass participation claims the party
Kohima: For the upcoming ‘MyNEP competition’, the Nagaland state BJP party has set a target for 1 Lakh participants from the state. The competitions are to be conducted 13 languages from September 25 to October 2.
Addressing a press conference, Nini Cheng, state BJP co-chief spokesperso, said that there will be three categories in the competition. One category is for students from classes IX-XII, the second is for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the third category will be open to all citizens.
Lanuakum O, state BJP secretary, said that in the competition, the state BJP has set a target of having 1 lakh participants for the competition. When asked about how the party plans to achieve its target, he said that there are around 3.65 Lakh party workers registered with the BJP who will actively be engaging in creating awareness about the event.
Competitions for classes IX-XII will comprise of two minute speech, handmade poster competition, letter to PM, 300 word essay, and meme making. For the Under Graduate and Post Graduate categories, competitions will comprise of short film (not more than 2.20 minutes), digital poster making, painting/handmade poster, minimum eight tweet thread, and meme making.
There will also be an interactive quiz based on videos and text module available at the www.mynep.in portal. The event will be inaugurated on September 11.
As part of the Sewa Saptah (service week) from Sept 14-20 in celebration of the 70th birthday of prime minister Narendra Modi, the party listed a sequence of activities that are to be conducted.The party will be presenting artificial limbs and other equipment to 70 differently abled persons in every constituency.
Besides presenting 70 spectacles to people as per need, fruits will also be distributed in 70 hospitals and poor colonies in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
Lanuakum informed that the BJP youth wing will also be organizing atleast one blood donation camp in every district with 70 blood donors each. Plantations of tree saplings at every polling station locality, cleanliness drive in 70 villages of every district, pledge to get rid of single use plastic, cleanliness drive in 70 public places at all headquarters, 70 virtual conferences on the life and mission of the premier are some activities to be undertaken by the party.
Phangnon Konyak, State BJP Mahila President, also said the BJP unit will create more awareness about the National Education Policy (NEP) among the masses. While the government is making all efforts to educate about NEP, she said that as a party it will continue to disseminate information about NEP.
