Nagaland: 37 armed force personnel, 5 others test positive; 173 cured

Kohima: Forty-two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state on Monday among which 37 are armed force personnel, three are persons through contacts, and one each is a frontline worker and a returnee. The state's tally has spiked to 4220.

Thirty-two of the new cases are Dimapur and 6 from Kohima district. Out of the 37 armed force personnel, 35 are from Dimapur, and two are from Kohima. Among the three traced contacts, two are from Kohima, and one is from Dimapur. One frontline worker and one returnee who tested positive are both from Kohima.

Overall, a total of 1823 armed force personnel, 1297 returnees, 791 persons through traced contacts and 309 frontline workers have tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, another 173 persons have recovered from COVID-19 on Monday increasing the total recovered cases to 3674 as compared to 3501 on Sunday. Although the health minister took to Twitter to inform that 175 were recovered, the official update from the health and family welfare showed 173 new recovered cases.

Among the new recovered cases, 91 are from Kohima, 78 are from Dimapur, and two each are from Peren and Wokha. With the new recovered cases, Peren and Longleng are the only districts in the state with no COVID-19 active cases.

Besides the eight confirmed deaths of COVID-19, two deaths are COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19. Another five deaths are under investigation.

Among the current active cases, 513 are asymptomatic, eight from Dimapur and one from Kohima is mild symptomatic, two from Kohima and one from Dimapur is moderate symptomatic.
