Dimapur and Kohima reported 8 cases each, 4 from Mon and 1 from Mokokchung tested positive. 34 from Kohima, 25 from Mon and 9 from Dimapur recovered
Kohima: With the detection of 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, the total number of positive cases in the state spiked to 4128. Sixty-eight COVID-19 patients recovered, increasing the recovered cases to 3419.
The new COVID-19 cases are from a batch of 480 samples that were tested. Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom took to twitter to inform that among the latest cases, eight each are from Dimapur and Kohima, four are from Mon and one is from Mokokchung.
In a subsequent tweet, he informed that 68 patients have recovered from COVID-19 on Saturday. Out of the recovered patients, 34 are from Kohima, 25 are from Mon and nine are from Dimapur.
The current COVID-19 status in Nagaland:
Out of the 689 active cases, 683 active cases are asymptomatic, and six are mild symptomatic.
As per the weekly bulletin, a total of 64,092 samples have been tested till date out of which 39,453 samples are through RT-PCR test, 23,785 are through Truenat test, and 854 are through antigen test.
In the past week, 302 cases has been reported as compared to 186 cases the week before, with a 7.9 % increase this week. 5,246 samples were tested the past week with a positivity rate of 5.7 %, and 5,126 samples were tested the week before with a positivity rate of 5.7 %.
According to the latest data, the most affected age group is 26-35 years at 36%, followed by 16-25 years at 25%. Since most cases are in the healthy 18-44 age group, most patients are asymptomatic (99%).
Armed Forces make up for the majority of cases at 42%. The overall positivity rate in the state is 6.4%.
