Nagaland: 28 more test positive for COVID-19, tally soars to 3,950
Kohima: COVID-19 cases in Nagaland spiked to 3,950 on Monday as another 28 cases were detected in the state. The new cases were tested positive out of 572 samples that were tested.
Among the new cases, 14 are from Dimapur, 10 from Kiphire and four from Kohima. Nearly two weeks after Kiphire reported the first case of COVID-19 from the district, another 10 were detected on Monday, adding to the district's tally.
Among the new cases, 19 are from the armed forces of which 12 are from Dimapur and seven are from Kiphire. Five new cases are returnees -- three from Kiphire and two from Dimapur. The remaining four new cases are through traced contacts all of whom are from Kohima.
Taking to Twitter, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom wrote: "State reports 28 +ve cases of COVID-19 out of 572 samples received.

Contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation".

Besides the eight confirmed deaths of COVID-19, one death is COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19. Another three deaths are under investigation.
Out of the total confirmed cases, 1,692 are armed force personnel, 1,260 are returnees, 715 are through traced contacts, and 283 are frontline workers.
