Nagaland: Active cases decline, as 101 COVID-19 patients recover

57 COVID-19 patients from Dimapur, 41 from Mon, 2 from Kohima & 1 from Mokokchung discharged; recovery rate touches 41.9% in state

Kohima: With 101 more COVID-19 patients recovering on Sunday, the number of active cases in the state declined to 1,958. With this, the number of recovered cases in Nagaland is now nearing the 1,500-mark. Although there is a slight decline in the number of active cases, it continues to surpass the number of recovered cases.

Out of the new recovered cases, 57 patients are from Dimapur, 41 are from Mon, two from Kohima and one from Mokokchung. The total number of recovered cases now stands at 1,422.

As 54 new cases were detected, the number of active cases spiked to 2,059 earlier on Sunday. With the addition of the new recovered cases, the recovery rate in the state now stands at 41.9% as on Sunday evening.

Death: 7

One death is COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19. Therefore, it is not reflected in the tally. COVID Deaths are established by the COVID-19 Death Review Committee as per ICMR protocol and WHO ICD-10 classification.

As per the severity of symptoms for the active cases, 1954 are asymptomatic cases, three from Dimapur are moderate symptomatic cases and one from Wokha is mild symptomatic.

With 1,168 active cases, Dimapur has the highest active cases followed by Kohima with 604 active cases. Zunhebotot has 82 active cases and Mon district currently has 76 active cases. Peren has 14 active cases, Wokha has nine active cases, Tuensang has three, Phek has two active cases and Mokokchung has one active case. Kiphire and Longleng are the only districts without any COVID-19 active cases.
