Kohima: As per a survey conducted by Fame India-Asia Post, Nagaland legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon, adviser IT Science and Technology, NRE has been listed among the '50 best legislators survey' under the 'artistic' category.
Mmhonlumo Kikon is a member of the Nagaland legislative Assembly from the Bhandari Assembly constituency under Wokha district. He is also one of the spokespersons for the High Powered Committee (HPC) for COVID-19.
When contacted, Kikon expressed: "I am pleasantly surprised at the recognition. I thank the Honourable chief minister Nagaland for giving me the opportunity to serve the state in Various capacities and I am trying my best to do whatever I can to fulfill my commitment to the people."
"In the process such a recognition comes as an encouragement and will definitely bolster my resolve in doing much better in the days to come," he told EastMojo over telephone.
Fame India-Asia Post had conducted a survey about MLAs across the country and published a list of top 50 MLAs. As per reports, the goal of Fame India is to bring forth and encourage those who do better for the society. The magazine believes that by honoring those who are doing some good work, they are encouraged to do better and the sense of responsibility increases.
Taking to Twitter, Nagaland state BJP president Temjen imna Along congratulated Kikon. "Congratulations @MmhonlumoKikon for your achievement as Asia post best 50 MLAs survey report," Along tweeted.
As per reports, the survey was conducted on a total of 3,958 MLAs where the agency determined 50 different categories and distributed them. The survey was done in three ways in which stake hold, online and data analytics were prominent.
A total of 1,500 MLAs were revealed in the online survey. After these names were put in the stake hold survey, a total of 150 MLAs above were selected for the last round. All these names were put in a list through data analysis where their works were audited, in-depth study of the proposals presented by them, bills and participation in their debates and so on. Following this, a list of 50 prominent top legislators was prepared, said reports.
The selection of MLAs in this survey is reportedly based on their popularity, working style, commitment, social concern, influence, public engagement, public interest, image as well as zero hours, attention proposals, bills presented, debate, presence in the legislative assembly, expenditure of MLA fund and so on and the results of the analytical report were included. The data available from the Vidhan Sabha, public opinion, media reports, social media activity and the opinion of the enlightened people from various fields were reportedly included in the above survey.
Ministers and chief ministers are excluded from the survey. Politician Mrinal Saikia of Khumtai from Assam, Aditya Goley of Sorong Chakung in Sikkim, and Ojing Tasing of Pangin in Arunachal Pradesh also made it to the list of best 50 MLAs.
