Nagaland CM's residential complex closed for 48 hrs as staff test COVID positive

All normal functioning of the office will continue following all guidelines, tweets CMO

Kohima: The residential complex of the chief minister of Nagaland has been closed for 48 hours after few staffers tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

Taking to Twitter, CMO Nagaland informed that few staffers in the CM residential complex tested positive for COVID-19. As the standard operating procedures are being implemented, the complex has been sealed for 48 hours.

"Few persons in the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex have tested positive for COVID-19. All SOPs are being implemented. The complex is being sanitized and the residential office closed for 48hrs. The normal functioning of the CMO is continuing following all guidelines," the tweet read.

A reliable source told EastMojo that the chief minister had tested negative for COVID-19. The source said that the test results of some staffs are still awaited. The staff at the CM residential complex were also tested on Monday in view of the State Assembly which was scheduled to be held on Thursday.

However, the one-day Assembly session has been deferred to August 13. Six staff at the Assembly Secretariat, one MLA and few other employees who were scheduled to attend the session had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The Assembly Secretariat has also been sealed for 48 hours.
